The earliest version of the Sleeping Beauty story is set in Macedonean-controlled Britain in the time of Alexander the Great. A truly mythic time, since Alex never even made it as far as modern-day Germany, let alone good ol’ Albion.
Still, the story takes place after Alexander the Great has conquered most of Britain, and since left it in the charge of a Regent called Pierceforest. One of his knights apparently finds a maiden asleep in the woods, and wakes her with a kiss.
Given that this is set during a (mythic) Macenonea-ruled Britain, and was conquered during Alex’s brief reign, that places the story at about 400 BC. Hence, the Sleeping Beauty Battle Princess is a Celt.
